Hotlinkers
I was checking the stats for my site, and I noticed that quite a few people have been hotlinking images from this site on places like forums, and none other than… yep, MySpace! 
I could have taught them a lesson by replacing the images with some inappropriate ones, but I decided to be nice this time. 
This hosting is free for me, and I respect their bandwidth, so please don’t hotlink images from my site but instead save them and host them yourself somewhere. I’m going to put up some hotlink protection as soon as I figure out how.

Setup hotlink protection. I don’t know if your host has this option available in their account control panel.

I do have the option in my cPanel, but that stops all hotlinking. I want to be able to allow images from certain directories to be hotlinked for my own use.
I know who the MySpace people are, since it shows their URL in my site referers. I sent them messages. The forum people aren’t so easy to track though.

Alright, I got hotlink protection working how I want it to. Here’s my new anti-hotlink redirect image.

i’ve had the same problem–and for some reason it’s always those myspacers (not so much the forum ones in my case). Most of the images were removed when the site was moved/renamed/re-motivated, so it dosn’t really matter anymore–except for the 404 error logs.
